One boy’s heartfelt search for a hero to look up to.

Written by our own Ben Alpi, Looking Up is a short film inspired by Ben’s growing fear that there is no one left to look up to. Featuring a unique blend of 2D and 3D animation with live action, this short will be a delight of artistry while it deals with a tough subject.

Ben: “I’m really beside myself watching the news almost every day. It’s appauling to me and strikes directly at the center of why Bob and I formed Runic over ten years ago. We need heroes.”

Taking it up a notch from Ben’s last film Silver Lining, Looking Up will use all three of the major filmmaking mediums: traditional 2D animation, 3D animation and live action. When asked why the mixture, Ben replied “It will become immediatly apparent when you see the film that this ‘special blend’ directly supports the story of a boy growing up and acts as its own symbolism. It’s powerful. I can’t wait to share it.”
